Pretty weird post/thread, imo...
If this was a stock board I'd think
it was a Pump&Dump.

i test drove both the X3 and X5 (3.0i), and chose the X3 because of it's better handling and power-to-weight ratio. i will say that i do like the look of the X5 better, and that the X3 looks less aggressive in comparison. to counter that, i intentionally chose black with the sport package in hopes that it would look more aggressive (which i think it does!).

if i won the lottery today, i'd probably add a 4.8 X5 to my car collection, but would still keep the X3.

i define a chick car as a car with a "pretty" or "feminine" look to it, such as a vw beetle or mazda miata. i don't associate it strictly with size (e.g., a porsche boxster is not a chick car). my husband loves my X3 and doesn't feel any less masculine driving it. hell, he'd kidnap it from me in a hot minute if he could. i think i'm going to need to start keeping the keys in a safe as precaution, as a matter of fact.

i think your friend with the saturn vue is just jealous...

I was right there with you and then I read... your a chick!
My point is proven!
Chick car!

Anyway, my friend in Oregon isn't jealous - he's gay and doesn't care what he drives. The girlier the better, he says.
He used to drive a red mazda miata. http://www.xoutpost.com/images/icons/icon7.gif

Go take a ride up in the canyon, or the PCH in the X3 and then the Vue, then tell us what you think.
Thanks for the advice all!
I took a ride down PCH and all I could do was look at how much bigger the X5's are.
I haven't driven the Vue but it makes my car look like a VW bug.

my brother has an old Suburban, from the late 70s, diesel....Thing is almost as big as a boat.....it's a beat up old farm truck, used to haul stuff, bale hay, etc.....Smells like horse shit from being parked out near the barn

Even has a bumper sticker that says "on a quiet night you can hear a ford rust"

I'm from Detroit, where this stuff matters.....If you want a "man's" car....i can see if he'll let it go....Hell, he'd probably trade it for a couple of cases of Jim Beam

so, because you get one female X3 owner who replies to your thread, the X3 is a chick car? well, then, applying your logic would mean that ALL cars are chick cars since it's almost a certainty that there's at least one female owner of every car model out there. except maybe a bugatti veyron...

Next time he goes shopping for anything, he should bring his friends. This way he won't have to worry whether they approve. Strap on a set. They talk about women. I know what I want and could care less what anyone else thinks. Sorry dude, but you deserve to be flamed. Everyone gave honest opinions but you want to hear you bought a chick car.

You have an X5!
Why can't I have an X5?
Even my gay friend Corey got the car he wanted - his Saturn Vue isn't a chick car.
He didn't want an X5.
I thought the X3 looked cool when I bought it but it's a girlie queer car!
That's what people tell me.
I even drove it to West Hollywood and they thought I was gay like Corey.

Oh well, next time I'll make sure to bring friends for validation.

Is there something I can do to toughen it up so people will think it's an X5?
