I bought a chick car - bigger is better

The verdict's in.
Thanks to all for your feedback regarding my X3 - but I've concluded that I did indeed by a sweet, brand new, 2006 black on black BMW X3... chick car.

My pal Corey in Oregon and his stylin' Saturn Vue agree that I bought a pansy ride.
The Vue is bigger and has a faster Honda engine -- who knew?
I immediately booked a flight to OR and beat him silly with my new X3 manual.

Point: Nobody's running around calling the Saturn Vue a Chick Car.

And, biggger IS better. Seems like X5 rules over X3 - by popular consensus.

I could quote what you all have said but you can go look for yourselves.
And most of you seem to be X5 owners... trying making the X3 owners feel better... probably so your X3 owner wives don't get mad at you.

Seems like the two cars are VERY close in size - 1 inch in height and a few in length. No diference in width. If anything - so they say, there's a tad more space in the X3.

That means I can fit one more bag of Trader Joes groceries... or a small child in the back end, folded over... definitely worth the x-tra dollars on the X5.

Bottom line, the X5 is bigger, more expensive and oh, I forgot... has a cooler, more straight-edged less girly design.

Truth - if I would have afforded the X5, as opposed to donating thousands of dollars to not only the starving children around the world but those who are just feeing a bit peckish - could use a snack, maybe a pop-tart or a fig newton, I would have done so. But all the same, I'm happy to be the proud owner of the X3. Enough said.

I do believe that the X3 was shat out as a chick-targeted "Less-UV" and I have one, I'm stuck with it for 3 years and I dig it.

I'll just adjust my seat a bit higher.

-BlackX3

Chick car or not, the X3 is a very nice car. As long as you're happy with it, and you enjoy the car... well, that's what matters. Enjoy the ride.

I guess. Seems like we're walking into the realm of 'I bought it cause it has a BMW roundel on it'

Sounds like an identity crisis to me. So basically, you would rather drive a Vue because others don't see it as a chick car. You're kidding, right? A freaking Vue.

You should spend more time enjoying your X and less time worrying about what other people think.

Go take a ride up in the canyon, or the PCH in the X3 and then the Vue, then tell us what you think.

Girly man!! Dude, the X3 is nice..I happen to like the X3 interior more than I do the X5...But again, I think its VUE'd (lol) as a chic car BECAUSE of the X5...People said the same thing about the Aviator when it came out, because of the Navigator, same thing with the Escape, because of the Explorer, same thing with the Rodeo, because of the Trooper, I could go on and on...But its your ride, and its a damn good one..Enjoy it...You sissy...HAHAHA....Couldnt help it...

Show us the pics anyway!!

Thanks for the advice all!
I took a ride down PCH and all I could do was look at how much bigger the X5's are.
I haven't driven the Vue but it makes my car look like a VW bug.

Blackx3, You are an idiot. Why are you letting a car define who you are?

Sounds like you are trying to make up for what you are lacking in your pants.

Truth is that we ARE defined by what we drive. You're in LA, you should know that.
Face it, we bought little chick cars - the H3s of BMWs.

Nothing to do now but wait out the lease and drive as little as possible I guess.
I'll probably be cabbing it a little more - and wearing a wig.
