The ease of entering addresses, the ability to enter waypoints, to switch voices, the clarity of the instructions (it specifies street names in the verbal instructions for example), the organization of destinations...just superior.

Now, the nav in the X3 has gotten me all over europe and all over California. It works fine, it is just that other systems work better.
No fault of your own. For some reason, the engineers at whoever makes BMW's sat-nav systems think differently from those at the Honda suppliers, and BMWs always seems to be more complicated. I can't stand touchscreens, however.

My mom drives a Civic 4 door sedan (EX auto of course, she can't/won't learn stick). I have gripes about the un-driver-oriented controls. The radio buttons require me to reach, the steering wheel buttons require me to look down, and I just ignore the digital speedo because my eyes alternate between the road and the tach, and that's it. (you may or may not have this issue too). The X3, for all its slowness and occasional hiccups, is a better driver's car. However, since you have an Si, you may like the Civic more than I like ours. I sat in one of those at the autoshow and found the seats a bit better, and the red illumination is less straining on the eyes then our "retina-burning blue".

Best of luck!
