I feel your pain!!
I had a 2005 for 6 months and got rear-ended on the highway. The damage was from another SUV so damage was extensive to the rear hatch as well as bumper, muffler shifted 2" and had to be replaced. My damage was estimated at 4K but ended up around 6.8K. They charged the extra 2800 when they said they couldn't guarantee a paint match of the highland green, so they painted the rear quarter panels as well!
Since you got rear-ended by a smaller, lower vehicle it looks like you have minimal damage. Once they remove the bumper cover they will be able to tell how well the reinforced steel beam held up.
