Smile X3 Rear DVD Installation

Hi X3 forum, I have just purchased a rear headrest DVD system for my 2006 X3 (without nav) and would like to hear from anyone who can help me with installation of the DVD player in the boot, I need to know wiring colours etc as I cannot locate any spare harnesses that I thought would be there for the Nav option.

Any help, Pic's etc etc appreciated.

The Nav wiring harness has to be retrofitted. Not sure it work for a headrest DVD system anyway. You'd need at least a BMW TV module and wiring adaptor to link a DVD player to the standard set-up.

WHat kit have you bought? Is it a BMW kit?

Kit is Alpine monitors and a Veba player. Mionitors have been fittedinto headrests and I am trying to decide the best place to fit the player. Arm rest, boot, under passengers seat etc.
Hopefully someone has done this sort of thing before and can shed some light.
cheers

The BMW kit mounts the DVD player in the centre console, in the same place as a CD changer would go. You might want to have a look at the bracket/trim kit used for the BMW DVD kit and CD changer and see if it might fit your Alpine unit (or could easily be modified to fit).
