Wheel Help....
Hello all, I‘m newbie to this forum. Recently, my wife and I purchased a 2004 Jet Black X3, 2.5i w/ the PP. The wheels on the vehicle are the OEM 17” X 8”, Style 111-Double Spokes. However, after looking at other various wheel styles, we had decided that we would like to upgrade to an aftermarket wheel setup.
The rim style that we are interested in is the BBS-RA’s. We have checked both with Tire Rack and BBS-USA, and this rim is only offered in the 17”x 9.5” size with an offset of 35mm. The Tire Rack selection indicates a fit, but I wanted to be absolutely sure. So, my questions are, if anyone knows…
1) What is the “existing” clearance of the OEM 8” x 17” Rims to the front and rear struts? A rim offset calculator indicates that with this BBS rim, the strut to rim distance will be reduced 8 mm.
2) Will this BBS-RA particular rim size clear the strut?”
Any inputs will be greatly appreciated….
