Opinion/observation on X3 running boards
Anyone find them useful other than looks? Not sure they are worth the cost for those of you buying new. |

I really like the way they look. But found them very annoying when I tested a car with them for exactly the reason you say. Those who like them have very small kids and they help them climb in. But I think its a looks thing only....
They can be removed. |

I like them
My X3 is with boards and I do like them a lot. Besides the looks they are handy when hand washing the car with a sponge. I can easily reach the whole roof. My kids (6 and 9 years) do step on the boards when getting in/out. I learned easily how to sit in / step out without touching the boards with my pants it is not that difficult.

do the running boards get really scratched up? i have heard several stories that it is easily scuffed up....
