bouncy front suspension?

I don't know if I am just imagining this but yesterday when I got in my 2006 X3 and it felt like the front of the car was bobbing up and down. Sometimes it felt right but at certain speeds and and roughness in the road it would be do it. Almost feels like the x3 is galloping like a horse.

When I stopped I inspected the outside of the car. Only thing I saw was the front left rim had some blackish fluid that has sprayed out from somewhere. Checked again today and it doesn't seem to be leaking anything else.

Does this sound like anything?

see if the black fluid comes back. A previous car i had would spray black oil around the rims - had a torn cv joint.

If you catch it quick sometimes you can get the boot replaced without replacing the whole cv joint

thanks, I have a warranty so I am going to get it checked out.

My wife is currently driving a 2006 X3 that has about 62K on it and she has the same black oil/grease. After further inspection it was seen that the driver's side shock was leaking oil. Waiting for Bilstein HD's from Bavarian Auto.
