Weasel will become famous soon enough
Well, since then the road got fixed up by a nice man with a bulldozer and tons of hard packed clay filled dirt. I was able to take that same road at 50mph last weekend. No more offroading fun for me in the near future...

Good to hear that all went well and both you and your X enjoyed the drive.

Just a note: You don't engage the traction control, that's working for you all the time. What you can do in more difficult going is press the DSC button. That disengages the stability control but keeps the traction control in play.

Stability control can be a negative on very loose and slippery surfaces, ie: snow, ice, soft sand, deep mud etc ... situations where the vehicle tends to have a mind of it's own.

No need to apologise. Excellent work. What are the other two cars in front of you?

Thanks. I thought that i recognised the CR-V but the other car was a bit of a mystery. The Infiniti brand has never been sold here.

PS: Did you have the stability control disabled?

I have DSC from X3, if I have correctly understood a question.

Yes, you have DSC which is both a stability control and a traction control system. In really muddy conditions, like those in your video and worse again, especially when you need extra momentum (ie, extra speed), it can help if you press in the DSC button. That disables the stability control but keep the traction control active.
