2007 X3 Problems (3months) advice?

Hello fellow BMW enthuiasts!!

I purchased my 2007 BMW X3si used in December 2013, so just a couple of months ago. Have a couple of issues that came up.

Yes, I have been on other forums as well researching and learning. I am new to the German cars.

Recently, I was getting on to the highway/freeway and I floored it to match speeds on the highway, but after 3k-4k rpms, my car started to "bog"-yellow service engine soon light came on. I pulled off the highway, shut off the car for a minute and started the car. Everything drove normal again and no light. It has happen a couple of times now.

Any idea? Plan to take it in to the shop on Monday, so thought I would throw it out there in case someone has had the same thing happen.

Second: I have been hearing this buzzing noise under my radio/cd unit. Everything is oem. When I turn off the car, it still goes on for another 3-4 minutes. Some times it starts low and then gets extremely high and annoying. I know some have had this issue but no one that I found has found out what the issue is.

Any info/advice would help. Thanks

Hello,
yellow engine light is a warning light that could be several things.
i have a 2007 2.5 si and the first time that came on white smoke was coming out of the exhausts and the car was running in safe mode. Was a broken 5th cylinder that was replaced.Could you see if smoke is coming out of your car?
The second time yellow engine light came on was a broken thermostate that was replaced.
In both cases the car was connected and faults were read at the service that connected the car.
I suggest you rush to your bmw specialist to determine the problem.

Can't tell anything without reading the codes. That is all the yellow light is saying, to get the codes read.

Does the buzzing noise sound anything like the ventilation fan?

Had a similar problem...

Change the pre-cat O2 sensors and the spark plugs.

How is your Heat & A/C blower motor doing? Might be source of the buzzing sound?

Sorry, been busy with work and totally forgot. I haven't had an issue since with the car going into this limp mode (if thats what you would call it). Its fine now.

But regards to the other noise that seems to be coming underneath the radio, sometimes it a low buzzing noise and sometimes it gets loud. I can feel the vibration if I place my fingers by the ashtray area. I have not figured that issue yet.

A new thing have come up. When turning into a parking stall it shakes or stutters a little. Is that normal or do you guys/gals think its the tie rods/suspension?
