I wouldn't say noticeably different in person, but it does look much better than in photos. It really shouldn't be an "it grows on you" type of vehicle like the previous 5 and 7 series because it is more conservative than the previous generation of BMW design. When you see enough of them, you start to think, that's just about perfect. No wild flame surfacing, no bangle butt, no scowling cat eye headlight eyebrows, just good design that won't make you say "what were they thinking" 5 years later!

They did this in the original E90, the headlights always looked like crap because of the orange reflector actually in the headlight assembly. Now the LCI E90 has it on the fender, easy to take care of.

You can tell they will make that part orange, making it very costly to get rid of. Not like getting a color-matched painted reflector set from a vendor.
Palbay. Thanks for the photos. It shows how horrid the orange in the head light assembly is. I was considering of picking up a X3 when it comes out, but with that, I've absolutely decided against it. They really should have done what M3_WC was saying, put the amber as a side marker outside of the headlight assembly.

I just saw a nice M-sport F25. In my mind I was thinking, that is a really nice X5M...wait it's not an...WOW.

Also the LED angel eyes look fantastic, very bright in person.

I do agree that the orange reflector looks less impressive than the all mirrored eyebrow above and to the side of the headlights. Other than that, it looks perfect.

Now if only a manual, knowing full well it won't happen. I drive my friend's 335is a lot and the DCT isn't bad but it still doesn't do what I want.

I keep seeing this blue water F25 without xenon lights and it looks terrible. I really hope they make them standard on the 35i.
