code/remove NAV screen "accept" ?

So far haven't found anything via search.

Is there a way in GT1 to code away the NAV screen requiring you to "accept"?

You just have to get the Nav update disk (V32). do a few searches, it's well covered.

Yeah, just update it. Mine is the newest version and the accept screen goes away after about 10 seconds.

The accept screen goes away with the v.32. I found the new (2015) maps on eBay for $14.95 that included the v.32. I also found a v.32 download for free and burned a CD for it. I got the 3D display, called Perspective, but not the ///M splash screen. When I bought the maps, the v.32 came with it so I loaded it on top of the previous attempt. Now I have the ///M splash screen.

The 2015 maps come on 2 discs, one for the east coast states to about the Mississippi river, and the other for the west coast states. Don't quote me on where east and west change, but if you do not live on the line then you will seldom (if ever) care about changing the disc.

When ordering your map update, there are apparently two versions, one for the DVD drive that lives in the back and another for the GPS that is contained in the dashboard. If you move over to the Navigation forum, there is far more information on this topic.

Right here in this forum if you want a free download and have the equipment to burn a disc. In the FAQ link at the top of the page...you'll find the link I have posted below which goes back to a thread created back in 2006.

That thread goes thru all the versions of nav software...and once you understand all of it...I believe near the very bottom is a link that will take you to various download choices. One caution...if you don't speak a foreign language or want a personalized version by someone from another country...please read what you are downloading and attempting to burn and update your system with:

Either making your own disk, buying the ebay special, OR if you have good friends from way back when you can barrow the OEM Update disk!

OEM disks are such a rare item though, but work perfectly. So glad I updated my 04's software

Thanks guys! This will inspire me to finally replace the NAV screen too with all the slowly dying pixles.
Now to go find that DIY as well ...

While you are inspired, and have the display out for repairs, you may as well install an Aux Port. There is a small 3-pin connector wrapped up in tape on one of the wire harnesses that goes to the back of the display.

You can order from BMW/Mini of San Francisco on Amazon Marketplace. Their P/N is 82 11 0 149 391 -- I plugged this number into realoem.com, and it came back as invalid, but the part has BMW logos all over it, and has BMW North America, LLC., printed on the bottom of the directions.

You will get a female aux plug that you can connect any male/male jumper from the headphone jack of your phone or other device, and play your music over the stereo system. Aux will become one of the inputs when you press the Mode button and walk through the inputs that are available. Since the display is already out of the car, connecting the Aux jack is easy, and worth the effort.

You can find the nav screen on Amazon also. There are several YouTube videos on how to replace the screen, and to install the aux port. The directions packed with the cable suggest installation time at 0.5 hours.

There are two aux ports available, one has a small 3-pin connector, and the other has a 6- or 8-pin connector. They have the same part number, except for the last digit. The 3-pin variety has a 1 for the last digit, the 6- or 8-pin has a 0 (zero).

Once you put the new screen in you may have to adjust it for the best viewing angle, brightness, contrast, horizontal and or vertical WhenI did mine I found this detailed link from our brothers at bimmerboard
