stereo upgrade

Looked at Dynavin, Eonon, and Avin. I have Premium sound with Nav. My q is: what if I rip all that shite out and put whatever I want. I know I would lose Nav ( have a GPS)- don't need. Don't need/want backup camera- my neck and mirrors work just fine Could care less about bluetooth/phone. Would lose some DSP- so what?. seems hardest part is speaker rewire (easy in my book, just time). So the q is: is it do-able? Would be a hell of a lot cheaper, sound better for what I already own. New head unit, speakers, crossover, sub and bam- should be doable.....?

You need this GAS Passive Crossover for DSP E39s, a 4-channel amp, a mono amp and subwoofer.

^That is required if you are keeping the factory speakers.

If you are replacing with all your own stuff... no harder than any other vehicle. As mentioned you will just lose OBC... but that happens with any and all options involving removal of the stock head unit. Sometimes the mid can be placed somewhere in the car to retain... but since you have GPS I'm guessing you don't have a mid now to re-install somewhere.

Would replace factory speakers also, don't need mid( don't have one to relocate). Is it true that I would lose OBD- as in plug in for codes, or jusr silly stuff like consumption, time, etc.

On Board Computer does not throw codes, those come from the On Board Diagnostics.

I'm confused as to the goal. Why throw out stuff that works, and works pretty well by most measures, just to put in a different radio? The radio you have is a good unit, and there are radios that are equally good as far as the radio goes, and they also support other features that are desirable to most people, except you apparently. You are going to sell the car some day, and when buyers look at three or four cars that do all but wipe their ass for them, and they get to your car and it doesn't do any of the neat stuff that the others do, then you will not sell it.

Your car does not support bluetooth, except to actually use the phone. But any of the aftermarket products that fit the space support playing whatever content you want to play, they have better maps, and some of them will even browse the web for you.

If you want to improve the noise that comes out, then look to the speakers.
