Privacy cargo cover

Where can I get one of these? I have the adjustable rear seat backs so is there a difference between the shades that function for those that are manual vs. powered?

thanks!

On ebay there are quite a few. Or can try a junkyard or craigslist.

I am not sure on the adjustable question. I would check realoem.com

Nope no diff as far as I know.

I have adjustable rears and they are the same as the one on a non-adjustable I compared it to.

The shade mounts a couple of inches away from the seatback, and the seatback does not hit the shade, so it should not matter what shade you get.

Got my OEM black cargo blind through eBay from a seller who was wrecking an X5 (parting it out). It has a very minor blemish, to one area (not visible) but works perfectly. I paid A$220 delivered to the door. Took a little hunting around though, as they're not readily available, or so it would seem. Some eBay sellers are offering after-market cargo blinds that require additional clips and mounts to be fixed (screwed in) to your existing panels. I didn't want to go down that road, so patiently looked around till I managed to find a seller with a black interior car being sold for parts, then negotiated a good deal (compared to after-market ones).

I just went through this myself...there are apparently 2 different types in the 2003 model year. One that has multiple rods and opens like a fan, and another that pulls out like a roller. I really couldn't figure out which one I needed from the pictures. I may even be missing a bracket I need. I bought one of the roller type (BMW OEM) on eBay for $125. As it happens, the bar rests in the opening fine, with gravity holding it in place. The hooks on the front end line up perfect with the slots by the back window, so all good. I'll post some pics, maybe they can help you:

So I either should have bought the one like a fan, or I am missing bracket hardware. But it doesn't rattle, so I am ok with it as it is.

This is why there was a suggestion to go to realoem.com...and enter your VIN...then look up the diagram & part nbr index for the cover so that you can shop using the 11 digit BMW part number that is correct for your build date & option (if you have elec rear seats).

Just a little due diligence can cut down on buying parts that don't fit or explain if it matters or not if you have rear elec seats....or which type of cover you need (early folding-fan or later roll-up type). The part data base gives all these clues & tips...it lists TO & FROM build date info as well as option code info and if the part nbrs are the same or different. You also get a list if there are old part nbrs (found in the used market) that are compatible...as well as any new part numbers that are compatible.
