I have notice a new group of owners posting on the forum. Although I commend them on their willingness to fix their X, they are also the type that have champagne taste on a beer budget. It's not just new X owners, I see it on the PORSCHE forums and Lotus forums. Can afford to buy a car, but reluctant to fix it correctly.

You got it all wrong. Not a new owner by any means and I've been a member much longer than you. I just never post, only read. Sure, I wanted to save $300 in case it could be the filter or if I was missing something else. Now I've confirmed that it is the pump (based on other replies, definitely not yours). I would never even think about trying to make that "universal" pump work. I always buy OEM parts, have no problems with that at all. But thanks for the helpful posts, is that how you get to 3,000?
