Accidents involving high speeds into stationary objects would provide a number of deaths equal to 50%. Better to take the 1% chance of Air Bag failure. (if that is a true results of engineering bench tests of returned air bags.) I would just drive and not worry...

On July 11th BMW released a Q&A PDF. I can only see it after checking my vin with the open campaign. I'll try and copy the link address and see if that works.

I am the original owner of the car. In the packet, also was a card to submit back for the *next owners * info to be updated if need be. Don't have the packet in front of me right now, but I suspect for those not being the original owners, you may not be receiving this letter, unless u bought this CPO from a dealer as well ? ?

I received a notification from BMW yesterday that my 2003 4.6is Driver side air bag is recalled. They don't have the parts yet and I'll receive another notification when they are ready.
