A 3-year UPDATE from post #8 I posted back in Dec. 2015...

I happen to have a 2005 Volvo XC90 2.5T.

The Volvo Serpentine Belt Pulley is a perfect fit for the BMW mechanical (not hydraulic) tensioner in every aspect:
- All 3 dimensions are a perfect match.
- The cap snaps right in.
- The Volvo pulley made by INA comes with a protective cap.

So, if you don't want to use Gates 38018 (b/c you cannot fit the protective cap on Gates pulley), then use Volvo INA 8627994 (about $23-$25 on line). This way you don't have to buy the whole mechanical tensioner.
