Sensor harnes won't come apart

I'm trying to replace my wear sensor, but its brittle and falling apart when I try to separate the sensor boot. any help will be appreciated. thanks

If the small block crumbles, then it is toast. You need to replace it.

The sensor has its own long wire that plugs into a connector in a junction box by the shock/strut. Is the crumbling wire part of the sensor or part of the vehicle harness?

It's at the harness part, near the strut tower.

Ah. Never heard of that before. I'm not sure where the next stop of that harness is.

Maybe try realoem?

+1 on that, I've not heard of the connector falling apart.
