So, finally got the X back and it's working perfectly. My indy had a couple weeks of work piled up, so it took him a bit to get to mine. I'm telling you, every time I'm out of the X for awhile, and get back in, I'm reminded of why I bought it in the first place!!! Love driving it....

Long story short, a couple of the pins on the TCM had corroded off, which was causing my no start issue. We installed a used TCM out of an '03 4.6IS, and were able to start it, but reverse wasn't working properly, and kept getting ProgFailSafe messages. The TCM connector had a bit of corrosion inside as well, so after all the connections were cleaned and we were assured that every pin was making good connection, all is well with the world again!! No problems whatsoever..........

Back to the Ultimate Driving Experience, lol......

Good news - glad to hear it was a relatively easy fix.
Just wondering - do you live in an area that is prone to corroding things? Or - is this a BMW component thing?

I bought the X in Florida 2 years ago, where it had lived all of it's previous life. I am currently in Ohio, so we do see lots of salt (and brine), but i see no reason that is should have been in the computer compartment. I'll be looking at the cover this week, and making sure it's sealing correctly...
