Headlights shutting off in Auto mode

This is the sensor I referred to in my response Brian. The windshield doesnt need to be replaced to cause this sensor to fail it could be just due to time, exposure etc.

Not sure how you test it for sure but the fact that you experienced it as the daylight changed led me to believe its the culprit.

Gotcha. I'm assuming the mirror needs to come down to replace the sensor?
