I do recommend removal being done in a warm environment (if at all possible). If the ambient temps are cold...the plastic may be more prone to cracking breaking vs trying to remove the mirror in warmer ambient temps. so just be cognizant of the amount of force you use if the ambient temps are cold.

What is this?! Side mirrors

I had to remove the backer plate to make a mod to the backer plate to fit the knockoff mirrors but with two cars it was a cost difference of about $140 it was worth the effort.



I had to cut the tabs down (marked in blue) see the other three already cut down.

It was a bit of a MFr to pull that backing plate off and push back on but worth the effort.



Installed. Very nice not going back. The knock off mirrors are plastic not glass so the refection is not as crisp but very ok. Acceptable trade off but with deeper pockets I'd recommend finding glass / oem.
