Mine is also lit permanently.

INPA suggests it's a control unit problem and looks like yours as well if you can't communicate with the control unit.

Now I'm not sure if the new airbag control unit needs to be coded after replacement. what do you think guys?

Have you tryed connecting to it with inpa? You also get IFH-0009 error?

My guess is also the airbag module. But I don't understand why... How could the airbag module get faulty just because I accidentally turned on ignition when the wires going to drivers door was disconnected?...

You can replace the module as long as you buy or find a module with the same numbers. If you go this route, no coding is required.

Or you can have your module repaired. There are companies that can repair your module.

No luck trying to connect to the module with NCSExpert.. Got error "COAPI-2020" (Same error as the IFH-0009 that INPA gave me)

Does anyone know of a good guide for troubleshooting the airbag system?

Don't want to buy a new Airbag module if turns out just fine..

Yes, problem solved. Turned out to be The airbag module.

He's thinking of matching partnumbers.

I got one from an e46, doesnt really matter If you are able to code The module to your car. If you dont have access to coding tools, You should go for a module with same partnumber.

this didn't work for me.

I was able to get an airbag module from a 2005 4.8is same as mine but INPA says ECU is rejected.
What do you think guys?
I also tried to hook it up in Progman but I also got problems there.
