So...I made it home without any issues (1000km)....I'm not celebrating yet though. The oil temp and level was normal during the trip and no weird noises from the engine....good acceleration and much better MPG for some strange reason.
Now to the day of hell: I started with the oil change as mentioned which took me almost 4 hours due to that strange part. It does not look anything like the RealOEM link you attached...maybe a different year...? I'll investigate that. The thing is that the part is not broken, I'm sure it can go back once I find the location. The suspension conversion was pretty much a breeze, the only hick up was the left hand side stabilizer bar. When opening the top nut and trying to pull it out, the ball joint came out of the socket...I later noticed the metal clip holding the ball joint was gone so it must have happened long ago. I was not without a stabilizer link (almost 10pm) and nowhere to buy a new one, not even the day after as everything is closed weekends! The final surprise came from nowhere....the oddest thing ever! My friend who was helping me closed the rear passenger door after putting back the interior and we heard a strange rattle...we opened/closed the door again but the sound didnt come back so we thought we're hearing voices (almost 12pm by now). The same thing happened when he did the other side...nothing visible. I found out what that sound was when leaving the shop and tried to raise all windows, the two front ones went up but the rear were nowhere to be seen!!!! Yes you guessed it...the damn clips on both windows had come off! What are the odds?!?! So back in the shop and open door cards...put clips back (i need new ones though) and windows got back up. Now I'm sweating it every time anyone comes near the doors. I'm ordering the parts today. Today's tasks: 1. Buy and install new stabilizer rods 2. Adjust suspension 3. Do tracking/balancing 4. Order/buy window clips 5. Find out if the parts from the oil change can be reused or not and if so where/how?! The coming week: Install new EONON NAV Pics will follow soon enough....

Stabilizer rods now changed on both sides, would have helped if I had a thin spanner to hold them from the back but job done anyway. I also adjusted the suspension slightly but only to get a feel for it...I will wait with the real adjustment for a couple of weeks when I get to put the 20" summer wheels on with spacers and finish off with balancing.
As for the weird oil part, the car is like normal...no weird noise, not even during start up anymore but that doesnt mean I wont get to the bottom of it. Oh, I also contacted my local BMW dealer and spoke to them about the removal of the active suspension warning, he told me they'd need to get a code from HQ and recode the car to think it came without that option....which is correct. He told me he'd get back to me once he confirms with his technician...fingers crossed! If anyone can throw some advice my way with regards to the Eonon Nav installation I would greatly appreciate it....my car is equipped with DSP and the Eonon box came without any instructions whatsoever! I find it very strange that EONON told me it's a Plug^Play system, even for my car and then send no instructions with the ton of wiring and harnesses.

So I found this about the strange pieces that fell out:
http://www.bimmerforums.com/forum/sh...ing-oil-change It does seem that I need a new oil pump...however, the description by what I assume was the dealer does not indicate any serious threat. Also, the dealer will always opt for replacing a whole part rather than fix it. I am sure these pieces can go back once I get the chance to pull the pump and take a closer look. I've looked through realoem but I cant see them anywhere.

Ok so I just got back from the dealer. I showed them the strange parts and they straight away knew what it was. See No 2 in diagram. The part costs almost 12$ and has those strange bits incorporated in it. No need to replace pump thank god! So I ordered that and 8 x window clips (the black rectangular pieces). Total of 25$ or so.

Quick update: Got a call from BMW informing me that the code I wanted to erase air suspension has arrived. They said I'll need to leave the car with them for the day and cost is approx 350$...does that sound ok to you guys?

I'm not sure to be honest, the reason they want the car to be there for the day is due to other jobs they have in line and want to make sure they can start right away on mine when they can.
I have other work to do on the car that's more important for now so I'll hold with this. The new suspension is a dream, no noises and responsive. Just for trivia: The local indy wanted 160$ for balancing (tracking)...Welcome to Norway!! BMW X5 4.8iS 2005
