Valve Cover Disaster....

I had a small leak on the spark plugs so I decided to change the VCG and plugs....

I finished it up tonight, excited to start it up, but hoping I didn't screw up and create a large leak....

I turn the key....the engine starts hard, then it runs really rough and the SES light is flashing....

Here are the 7, yes 7, codes I am getting....

P1341-Multiple cylinder Misfire with Fuel Cut-Off
P0201-electrical circuit for cal #1 fuel injector)
P0202- injector 2 circuit open
P0208-Injector Circuit / Open (Cylinder No.8)
P1343-Misfire cylinder 1 with fuel cut-off
P1357-misfire on cylinder 8
P1345-Misfire cylinder 2 with fuel cut-off

I didn't think I could screw that much stuff up....I am hoping that I just forgot to plug something in or hooked something up backwards, but everything looked to be hooked up properly.

Can anyone save me.....?? (Thanks in advance)

sending positive vibes your way man..
I would say recheck everything you disconnected and make sure you hear that 'click' when you connect it...
it has to be something silly...

Mostly cylinder1-2 so check that bank. I find it very easy to forget the little ground strap for the coil (it sometimes flops under the gasket, also. )

Then I would be looking closely at the electrical connections to the injectors.

^ Thanks, I agree, I think it is to be something stupid...right in front of me....

Does anyone know if all the connecters on the wiring harnesses are all differant? Meaning that it would be impossible to connect the various wiring harnesses the wrong way???

I had the joy of that error when I finally had the passenger side valve cover back on and torqued to spec....then I go into panic mode when I see the ground inside the valve cover...

So when checking the drivers side (I think that is bank 2, and the #1 cylinder is closet to the front of the vehicle), what am I looking for...??

I checked the injectors connections, the ground is fastened correctly, the 2 wiring harnesses on top of the bank are plugged in...anything else I should look for??

Make sure the coil packs are seated correctly. Some times it takes some effort to make sure they seat all the way. Most likely, that is what is causing your misfires. Clear the codes out and see what comes back

Thanks, I will give that a try.

Luckily I am "celebrating" Presidents' Day tomorrow, so I have some time to work on it.

Bank 1 (cyl 1-4) is US passengers side. #1 cylinder is toward the front.
Bank 2 is US drivers side. #5 cylinder is towards the front.
