Cool no question, just awesome-ness!

Well, today I mounted up the big 14.1 inch rotor / big brake kit from the 4.8iS onto my puny 18" summer wheel, WOW! there is about 1/8" clearance all around, and best of all, no spacer required!
Special thank-you to Deansbimmer in Texas, for shipping them to me! they are absolutely HUGE and amazing!!! I think I am going to go with a BMW Royal Blue either paint or powder coating. I wasn't sure if my 18" wheels would work, but they do! (big sigh of relief!)
thanx again to deansbimmer, you sir, are awesome!

Looks like Ozone cracking at the bead area. Normal on 3-5 year tire's life.

Yes, the tires are toast. they are my summer wheels, the photo was taken with the brake assembly placed in the wheel, and then using a set of spare wheel bolts, I torqued it all down to see how much clearance I had. those keen observers will also note the outboard pad is not installed !
I want to clean and powdercoat the calipers, and clean up the rest of the knuckle bits too. This was as test fit, and so far all looks like its going to be a good addition
I'm planning to install some new tires this spring. still not certain what I should opt for, suggestions welcome!
I have 18" winter wheels as well and don't think my wife would understand if I suddenly needed two new sets of wheels! (that and I have a jeep too, so me and the tire shops are friends! )

Thanx to everyone who contributes to the forum, you guys are all awesome !!!!

On the F80 board on Bimmerpost there is a long thread about damaged (deep scratched) wheels from stones getting caught between the brakes and wheel. And that is with factory clearance. Just sayin'

Very nice! That is good too know. I have passively been looking for a set of iS brakes but wasn't sure if they would fit under my 18s.
