DIS question

I decided I would try to learn how to use DIS. Thinking it might help with preventative maintenance planning I do.

The problem I am having is that I haven't been able to get my adaptor to connect. It works for INPA but not for DIS. I don't get the error that is listed in the file named possible solutions for errors. I get a pop up box saying it doesn't find that adaptor address.

What do I need to do?

Please use non-technical language, step by step instructions would be most helpful.

Thanks in advance

For the dis I'm using there is a screen behind the vmware screen. You need to click run on it and then it will connect. This drove me crazy for hours but well worth the wait. Learning how to use dis has saved me towing my car at least 2-3 times already. Best investment I've made.

The message I am getting is after clicking on run. It doesn't connect.

Basically when I connected DIS first thing I do is click run. Then after words I press the play button on VMWARE. Once its all up and running after you click on the type of car your searching it should automatically pick it up. The other thing I didn't do correctly when I first set it up was assigning my COMP Port. I have really good directions on how to do that if you want me to PM it to you.

I already checked the comp port assigned and it is as per the instructions so that's not the problem.

Was this purchased as a bundle? Or DIS and cable bought separately. I know DIS is known to be sensitive with what cable it uses. I purchased mine off Ebay romanian seller

Ricky Bobby will become famous soon enough
Are you getting the green bars indicating good connectionon diaghead.exe and on the DIS screen before trying to connect?

Turn off bluetooth and wireless on the laptop as well, it interferes with connection
