Going for the black on black tone look? Not my personal taste but every owner gets to pimp their own ride.
IMHO dark vehicles need light colored wheels otherwise they look like dirty race cars, which is popular for some unknown reason now days. Kind of like the shag rug look for interiors of the 70's.

I tried several different options to achieve a match to the wheel trim. Anthracite gray is the one I chose. I used plasti-coat because I wasn't sure they would look better than the silver on 87s and I had seen flat black wheels that were clean and looked dirty. The gray has some metallic in it but to be sure the wheels didn't look dirty I added several coats of clear gloss. That was almost 3 years ago and they still look like they were just done.

Yep! Except my tails are smoked and I have black ECS grill. I'll probably very lightly smoke my side markers and headlights (once sanded and polished again) to complete the look.

Really glad to hear I can expect it to last some time. It's sort of a pain in the ass with all the prep work and cleaning. Looks like it covers really well. I was religious about shaking and heating the cans supposedly it gives a smoother look. I'm pretty happy with the appearance.

Desired effect achieved. Matches trim perfectly. Even with the index card trick got some dip on the rims. I hear tire shine or WD-40 will take it off...

It'll just wear/peel off the tire in short order. Looks nice!

What's the lifespan of dip on wheels - I was going to have a guy do my style 69s down here for $35/wheel in Anthracite Gray w/Glossifier?
