Passenger door won't unlock.

Started having issues with front passenger door not locking or unlocking with the other locks. Work around was to lock it manually and unlock it with the interior door handle pull. Now it will not unlock at all and the front passenger door is not usable. I tried the "welding rod technique" without success, but that addresses a different problem anyway. My hope is someone has figured out a method for unlocking in this situation.

Search turned up a claim the door card can be removed with the door closed. I guess I'll give the a try and then try to manually manipulate the cables to get the door open.

Did you have any luck with this? My Front Passenger door randomly doesn't unlock. It always locks. But trying to figure out if I need to replace something soon so I don't get stuck in your situation.

^Ditto! Just went through this right before I was getting ready to install new stereo. Actuator started acting up and then totaly failed keeping me from opening the door at all.

Delay maintenance/repairs is just going to cost you more in the long run. Get it fix once you start having trouble or trade the X in while it is still working.

I haven't tried yet, but will this weekend. I'll update when I succeed/fail.

Yes, usually the best time to fix a problem like this is after the problem is not too intermittent to diagnose accurately, but before it becomes permanent and causes a real problem like this. Also good to have a backup plan in case you get a faster than expected transition from the rarely intermittent to the permanent state.

I was unsuccessful at removing the door panel. I can get it loose, but there just isn't any maneuver room. I'm considering removing the seat and trying again.

Okay, removed front seat and got the panel off. Broke a few clips, but no damage to panel. Now is love some pointers on how to get door open now that I can get to the inner workings. Thanks
