I had to put around 10hrs into the job.

The truck was laid up for over a week waiting for parts.

I like to tear down and inspect everything prior to ordering ANYTHING. This saves me from the temptation of throwing it back together with new parts on hand and suspect parts that SHOULD be replaced.

Definitely the best way to go at it!! Did you replace anything other than the chain?

The front flex disc had some minor cracking & the front driveshaft flange seal (it is pressed in from the outside of the housing). It's near impossible to slide the front shaft into the seals feather edge without damage.

I've been having this same issue but no jolting just loss of power and car will stall at idle.

It'll then run perfect for a long time, it is very random.

I'm pretty sure it's my Mass Air Flow but I can't disconnect it. Almost looks like a previous owner put a sealant on the connector. Does anyone know where I can buy the connector just in case it breaks when I do get it off?

Regarding the OP's problem I agree with upallnight.
Just turn the key on to the position just before you start the engine
press the accelerator for 30 full seconds and that's it. It's not an
engine mount, or Transmission mount problem. Iv'e done this
every 6 months for the last ten years with success

My 3.0d does this too, not often but does it...and yes 1st time thought i was rear ended...
