Grrrr... just noticed a persistent whine when the Eonon is powered on. Pitch fluctuates with throttle. Ideas?

Mine does the same thing. It's faint but it's there.

Damn the man. It's possible it's been there but I think I would have noticed it. I tend to be aware of stuff like that. Also seeing some new mirror shenanigans when wet, so my mind was already disposed to electric gremlins.

Do you have your analog inputs in the back capped off?

Good thoughts Joshdub.

I'm thinking about these

8X RCA Plug Copper Caps Cover Noise Stoppers 24K Gold Plated Audio Top Quality | eBay

My unit arrives on Monday. My plan is to do the speaker upgrade this weekend. Lots of work next week on the Eonon and rear camera.

BTW, I have a GM5150 in my E46 with Win CE OS and I've been running and like the iGo8 GPS maps. Does anyone have an APK file for iGo8 or can point me to a link?

Thanks,

Mike

No spurious noise on mine, even at full volume. Obviously fewer induction sources on the diesel engine. I did have some mechanical noise from the chassis fan, but that has stopped, probably because the fan ceased spinning.

So Eonon sent me another update, which ironically is just the same update as they sent the first time.

Their instructions to recover the unit from backup don't work either, and I'm pretty handy with Android devices. Either they send me a new head unit or I'm sending it back for a refund, most likely will be the latter.

Shoulda kept it simple and just did the Grom add-on for the stock radio....

Received my unit today. I've got my work cut out for me this week

Anyone with insight about the pink BRAKE wire in the Fakra harness (Pin #20) that appears to go to the CAN Bus box and whether that wire should be cut and grounded to allow DVD play while moving????

Thanks,

Mike

I didn't need to cut any pink wires. Mine is the previous version and I believe the override to play DVD's while in motion is a menu option.
