And get the help of someone, secure the vehicle and see if you can find the source of the sound.

There will be excess engine movement when the vehicle is in drive and held by brakes and the engine RPMs increased.
Just did the brake and accelerator test and engine moves only slightly maybe inch or two. Motor mounts are ruled out. Will check transmission fluid level next.
On another note now my horn sounds like it's been smoking two packs of cigarettes a day for the past 20 years.

it's not in the tranny been there done that i even loosen the tranny mount move the tanny a few times so it would seat again but vibration like your still there atleast mine has good days and bad days some are very noticeable others very minor i just got in to the habit at time when at a light i put it in neutral if you do a deep history in to this issue.you will find the article about the dealer thought they found the fix when it was 1st complain about it. the dealer would reflash the computer to where it would raise the rpm then after a while it would vibrate again then when they ran out of options they came out with the phrase that it is part of the vehicle behavior and nothing else they can do. the sad part was people spend tons of money at the dealer but still left there with the vibration.but again some have change the mounts even though they check good and fixed their problem

Well vibration cause has been identified and honestly I've never seen anything like this before.

Turns out it's a broken engine mount arm

Another new issue is my driver side window will not go up due to glass going of track. I got to say my foray into BMW ownership is not exactly a good experience so far. On the plus side I'm defiantly becoming more mechanically inclined having to fix all these issues on weekly basis.

True. But I hope this is the last of my repairs for the foreseeable future as I'm $3600 deep already in just one month of ownership.

Well got a dollar amount on my latest repair bill. $1129 for engine mounts and one engine mounting arm. I figured since mechanic will in there already why not throw some new engine mounts at it.

Yeah, had that happen to me on a W124. Those look the same, they are probably alloy and hollow.

Yeah, good idea to do the mounts at the same time, less to come back to in that area.
