Yes good idea to throw in some new engine mounts at this juncture. It should feel like a new car after fixing this latest concern.

Picked it up from the shop and boy does it feel like a new car. Fresh diff fluid and new engine mounts transformed this truck drastically.

Another week another issue. This morning noticed some fluids under the truck that I previously thought to be water from AC but this time took a tissue and dipped it. Turns out its oil. Check engine oil level almost bone dry. Went under the truck and saw that cover completely soaked in oil. I pray to god it's not oil pan gasket because I'm out of money to keep fixing this thing. Will lift it up tomorrow and try to see where the leak is meanwhile time to get some more oil.

Ah... socks to hear that.
These cars are costly to maintain unless you can and have place to wrench yourself.

Maintenance is a pretty penny on these vehicles.

I wish their design was more durable from the factory or at least not as labor intensive to replace items. But I feel it's just how modern world auto manufacturing works where vehicle not supposed to last past 7 years or 100k miles. How else are these corporation going to make money?

I dont blame you man. Yeah these trucks are real expensive to maintain.

These cars have features that are just now becoming mainstream on less expensive vehicles. Cutting edge (for the time) cars have expensive parts.

The fact is that stuff wears out. Lasting 100,000 miles on any vehicle is a very reasonable life cycle especially one that weighs as much as an X5.

Someone can always give an example of vehicle that they have done nothing more than change the oil in 200,000 miles. I've owned a lot of different vehicles over the years and never have had one that didn't require a significant cost repair within 100,000 miles. Cost of ownership of a vehicle purchased used will be directly related to how much the history was the deciding factor in your purchase.

The cost of dealer or indy shop repairs is such today that if you buy a vehicle out of warranty or with more than 100,000 miles on the clock and can't do repairs yourself it will most likely be a terrible financial decision when weighed against the cost of payments and depreciation of something under warranty for at least another 2 years of miles you normally drive. Might be better odds winning the lottery.
