I wanted to thank everyone for the help. I successfully replaced the bulbs without any problems! Yes that lower torx screw is a bit of a challenge and required a bit of patience. I also purchased a magnetic parts bowl and set it under the area which kept me from losing the screw a couple times Lol. Now on to the next challenge. Thanks again for all the help!

Sorry to drag this thread back up but to be clear, for the S522 Xenon Light and
S524 Adaptive Headlights, there are only 2 bulbs each headlight? The Xenon DS2 bulbs and the high beam H1 bulbs?

What about the ring around the Xenon bulb that's lit up....so there must be a bulb there right?

Cheers

D2S xenon bulb, H1 for high beam and a or separate bulb for angel eyes.

Sure is - a 10W BA9S halogen in a fancy plastic holder/reflector. $$ from BMW but you can modify the housing (easy) to take a standard 10W BA9S halogen lamp (like I've done).

Ahhh I knew there had to be one for the angel eyes.

Thanks!

Is there Philips replacement you can use? (Or any other brand)? Using an LED bulb will cause issues right?

Good quality LED replacements will work fine without issues.

Except for the errors on the check control.

Which are easily coded out (disble hot and cold monitoring) with PASoft etc.

A Philips 12024CP bulb will drop right into a modified reflector assembly, as will many other branded 12v 10w BA9S halogen bulb (e.g Osram 64113)

My favourite is the Flösser 4010 - they last 3 time longer (or more) than anything else I've used.

And yes, I've researched this WAY too much!

Check out the video I posted (not mine) but yeah, it's easy. Takes a couple minutes with a hot wire (wound around the end of a soldering iron) to make a pair of small slots to allow the bulbs bayonet pins to pass.
