If you want it to tilt, leave the switch to the right. If you don't want it to tilt when in reverse, leave the switch to the left. No adjustment of the degree of tilt available. Does that sum it up to all's satisfaction?

Thanks for the replies guys. I made a mistake and I may have created unnecessary confusion.

I had forgotten that I actually went to the dealer to have the "mirror memory automatic kerb parking function" activated on my m3 so that the mirror tilts down when the mirror adjustment button is on the RIGHT (passenger side) and reverse is engaged. You can then adjust the passenger mirror to tilt in any way you want.

Anyway I dug up a thread for you guys to read regarding this ----- take note of Post #5 and Post #13.

The next time I'm at the dealership I'll ask if this procedure is also applicable to the e53 X5.
