Had to post a pic of my daily project. Having some friends build it for me and I should be picking it up Wednesday.

I've been following the build on M5Board. Very nice and congrats, Brandon.

I need to get the headlight issue fixed. When I turn them on, the left cuts on and then goes off. Then the right does the same. They go back and forth pretty quick, on and off, left then right for about 5-10 seconds before the right cuts back on and the left is off. I tried swapping bulbs but not luck. Seems unlikely that both ballasts are bad so leaning towards light control module. Anyone experienced this?

I listed the Volvo on eBay but my wife is kind of attached to it. She might rather let the X5 go so curious if there is any interest. I just had $6k worth of maintenance done to it to fix all the issues. New timing chain guides, chains, tensioners, all gaskets, power steering hoses, driver side front control arms, new stock head unit, alignment and transmission fluid flush and filter change which fixed the hard downshift. If anyone is interested, shoot me a PM so we can feel it out.

Only issue at all is the headlight problem where the driver side goes out. I tried bulbs and it didn't fix it. It's either ballasts for the light control module but I will price accordingly with this in mind. Other than that, no vibrations, no leaks etc. 111,000 miles 03 4.6is.

Man, I can't imagine preferring a Volvo to an Estoril Blue X5 4.6, but I'm so biased that all I see is a blue and white roundel every time I blink.

We spent the day out and about with the X5. On one of our last stops, we went to Lowe’s. When we came back to the vehicle, there was a large puddle of coolant and lots of it was still dripping out from the belly pan. It seemed to be a tad further back from the radiator but the belly pan could have directed the coolant. I called AAA and went to move it so they could get better access. The temp gauge was still dead center so I decided to try and get some more coolant while my wife kept her eyes glued to the gauge. I topped off the reservoir and no more leaks. I drove it home and still nothing. Then took it to a few places the next day, still no leak and no temp rise. Last night when I moved it, it displayed low coolant again.

Any ideas what could be going on? I got it up on the lift and looked in the bay but couldn’t find any sign of a leak or split hose etc.

I know you're way more experienced for this question, but just in case:
Have you checked WP weep hole?
I just replaced WP on mine and it was leaking on and off through weep hole but with no bearing play or noises. It was early in failure process.
Basically, leak scenario similar to yours.

If you did not, look for leaks when the engine is running and the coolant is at operating temp then turn it off and look for a leak for a few minutes. When the engine is turned off the coolant system pressure increases which may be the only time it is leaking. And, whenever significant coolant is lost the system should be bled.

Since some of the coolant hoses etc. were removed to do the timing guide job I suggest that you have the shop check their work.
