I received a P0741 error code the other day while coasting up a hill (not on the gas). Came home read the code, cleared it. It hasn't been back since but I am still paranoid about it. I have harsh 2-1 downshift in normal "D" but not in "S" mode.

Troubleshoot tips in order?
- Replace fluid and filter (24341422673)
- Transmission adapter (24347588727)
- Transmission Seals (24107520715 / 24107519315 / 24107519314)
- Solenoids

You could perform the 2-1 tip in procedure (key in pos II, gas pedal depressed all the way for 30 sec) which is actually a way to reset adaption values if one doesn't have the software (INPA, GT1, etc)

then perform the break-in procedure you describe.
There are two adaptations that take place: one for the clutches to adapt which is not recommended and one for the driving style.

The pedal down for 30 sec or using INPA resets the clutches which is require when you do a transmission overhaul or something to do with the wear of the clutches/plates. It is not recommended otherwise. The tranny has to adjust the clutch timing/pressures and it will put stress on the them for a while for no real reason.

fmugur,
so if I want to reflash my tranny GKE module again I have to follow the insutuctions of the diagram right? (Aaron told me a much shorter/smaller procedure to follow)
and I notice in the diagram it says the adaptation values have to be reset, but you're saying those shouldnt be reset unless internal parts (ie clutches, plates, etc,) are replaced because if you DO perform this adaptation reset it will make the tranny think there are new parts in there and perhaps put extra stress/strain on the already used/worn parts... so I'm a bit confused as to why/when this diagram procedure gets implemented.

Mike, sorry for the late reply, life got in the way...
Here is my understanding... When you replace something in the transmission you have to do the reset and relearning procedure. When you update the firmware the adaptations get flashed as well and you have to follow with the re-learning procedure.
So, in your case, if you already have the latest firmware then you only need to reset the adaptations and run the re-learning procedure. No point on re-flashing it. I believe, it has a limited number of updates.
I don't know if the re-learning procedure works without the reset, it might though.

Can you post Aaron's procedure here so we can try it as well.
