AM reception

I wonder about that, the AM reception did work some before the install, I thought the diversity was all or nothing with reception. I have no idea what fuse to check. I would like to know how to check the diversity unit itself, Am I looking for open circuit you think?

OK. Well, the wire count is right and the colors look right (from memory - would pay to check). Not sure if there is one like this in the rear on the factory loom. So this one connected into the factory NAV head unit? I recall the MID connector as being green but again, I'd have to go check.

I have no NAV in mine, only the MID. And it's staying in the dash!

Thank you for the wire info.
The MID does not use the 12 pin white or blue cable, just Nav units.

Yep, I knew that but I couldn't remember if the MID connector was white or green. (it's green BTW)

Here's the MID connector - X10119 - MID (A103) -

And here's more info on the connector...

https://xoutpost.com/bmw-sav-forums/...siness-cd.html

I'm thinking that if you originally had NAV, and have obtained a MID unit and want to install it in the trunk then you'll need to get a MID connector from somewhere and wire it up using exiting wires from other connectors in the trunk - there's a ton of un-used connectors in mine - I haven't gone through them to see if there is one more suited to modifying for the MID than others but as I said, I'm not looking to move my MID - but I know a few folk here have done this, so it must be possible.

Re. the diversity reception module, the fuse is in the trunk fuse block - fuse #86 I think - but thinking about this some more, it's not likely to be a blown fuse, as fuse also powers the aerials for the remote entry radio system, so if your remote fobs still unlock the car, the fuse will be fine.

The other possibility is the fact that the diversity unit is also enabled from the NAV/RADIO etc. in the factory set up. When you add an aftermarket unit, you need to connect one of the wires in the factory loom to the "powered antenna" or "powered aerial" output on the aftermarket unit. This is often overlooked and could result in the diversity reception unit not being enabled when you switch to radio mode.

HTH...

Why u have so terrible TPMS button??? From where?
Yes, granted my TPMS button is unsightly. My E53 (2003 model year made in late 2002) was not equipped with any TPMS so with my Eonon upgrade, I retrofitted a unit to display on the screen

The button allows the user to activate/change settings of units (*F/*C) and alarm pressures.

Also, the button allows the user to check tire pressures at any time, not just at startup when the unit automatically displays pressures on ACC key position.

I agree, it is unsightly but I can deal with it.
