So where is the soft sand? Seriously, that is not even close to off roading or soft sand, in many places that is called a parking lot or driveway. I used to drive my 320i down to beaches that were far worse than that, and that car was lowered and only had 4" of ground clearance.

Very nice! Is it me or does this 4.8is have chrome window trim in place of the usual Shadow Chrome?

Kuwaitiano: Did you change out your window trim or order it that way? Or is it just the way the light is hitting the trim that makes it look silver?

This may be your lucky day......Check the product catalog at http://www.lakeshorewheelandtire.com/ . You can get the OEM staggard look with these style 168 replicas.

In the SF Bay area not so much, but in the more rural areas of the Coast of California and the deserts, yes. I was laughing because I have an entirely different perspective of what I consider "off roading." I drive an 80 series Landcruiser (getting an X5 for my wife to replace her 525i), which is what I consider a real truck. The X5 is a nice vehicle for what it is, just not an off road vehicle. BTW, I don't consider the new Jeep SRT, Mercedes Benz ML, or MDX to be off road vehicles either. It's the compromise you choose. My LC can go places an X5 would never think of, but an X5 will run circles around it on the street and is much better at 80mph+ cruising.

Here is a picture of an 80 doing what I call off roading.

I love the LC 80 series. I had a '95 FZJ80 and I loved it. I never did any offroading of the type you showed but I did do some running around in the SoCal desert. I just got bored and traded the LC for the X5. I don't regret it but I do still like the LC's.
