Front PDC inoperable

The new to me 4.8is has inoperable front PDC. When putting it in reverse you get a long tone and a flashing light.

I have audibly checked for clicking and the rear ones all click, but the fronts do not.

When using INPA I get errors on all 4 front sensors. Is it likely that they are all bad?

Seems more likely that something has compromised the wiring to all four front sensors - pinched somewhere... Or not even connected?

All four sensors are connected via a single common multi-pin connector. You may have to remove the bumper to check this.

Thanks, I'll probably do that some time before winter sets in. This wiring, is it a harness that plugs in at the firewall or something? Is it possible to just replace that harness without too much of an issue?

The front PDC harness connector or your facelift X5 should be right side just below the right headlight. You should be able to pull the right side headlight forward a little bit and find the multipin connector referenced above. That would be my guess but you should also look at the PDC module in the rear spare tire area and make sure all 3 connectors are properly seated. If it turns out to be a faulty front harness, I picked up one for my retrofit on FleaBay for about $20.00.

I can't be sure (as I haven't tried) but you *may* be able to check the connection through the fog lamp opening, if you can remove just the right-side fog lap assembly from the front. This would allow you to check the loom connection without removing the entire bumper.

Was the bumper off the car recently? Replaced or painted etc.? Maybe the PO or panel beater left the connector undone...

Thanks guys! I started to take the bumper off, removed the screws and bolts and started to separate the bumper from the fender on the passenger side. When it broke free I saw the front PDC harness hanging there disconnected. Reconnected it and voila! Instant PDC.
