Any skilled mechanics want to verify this?

So I contacted an indy and left my X5 there. I had 3 distinct gongs.
1. transmission failsafe prog error
2. check brake fluid
3. add windshield washer fluid.
car has been sitting as I been on work related travel.

the diagnosis is below i'm just curious if what they say actually addresses the trans failsafe error. If anyone can provide words of wisdom should I let him go ahead and work on it or get another opinion.

** VERIFIED CONCERN, FOUND THE FOLLOWING DTC'S 145-CAN TORQUE REDUCTION; 146-CAN TORQUE INTERFACE; 141-TANK FILL
LEVEL PLAUSIBILITY; 227-FUEL TRIM BANK 1 PERMISSIBLE RANGE EXCEEDED; 228-FUEL TRIM BANK 2 PERMISSIBLE RANGE
EXCEEDED; 211-IDLE SPEED CONTROL VALVE MECHANICAL FAULT; AND 149-AIR MASS TO ENGINE THROTTLE SIGNAL IMPLAUSIBLE.
PERFORMED SMOKE TEST AND FOUND THE DISA VALVE WITH AN EXCESSIVE AMOUNT OF LEAKING-NEED TO START WITH THIS
FIRST, THEN RECHECK. ALSO FOUND THE ENGINE OIL FILTER HOUSING TO BE LEAKING PROFUSELY. LASTLY, THE BRAKE FLUID
LIGHT IS ON BECAUSE THE BRAKE FLUID IS LOW AND THE BRAKE PIPES ON THE DRIVER SIDE OF THE CAR TO THE REAR ARE
LEAKING.

I am by no means a trained BMW mechanic but I do own a few. As long as you have solid vehicle voltage (over 12V), my guess from the errors listed would be the mass air to throttle signal implausible causing the trans failsafe prog error. That is the factory electronics trying to save the engine from what it perceives as a catastrophic problem. Pull the intake boot and have a look around in the throttle valve area and make sure it is closing completely, some have reported a o-ring failure and part of that o-ring binding in the throttle flap causing the throttle flap not to close completely. From there I would try a mass air sensor if the throttle valve operation is unobstructed. That seems to be the only critical code I see in your list.

Either you need to replace the old DISA Valve with a new DISA valve to eliminate the vacuum leak, or modify the old DISA valve to accept a new square cut 0-ring.

If you have the gear light with the exclamation symbol on, that could be due to the Mass Air Flow sensor. Don't buy a cheap MAF from eBay or Amazon. Buy a genuine Siemens MAF. There's a X5 at the Pick N Pull in Summit Illinois that still have its MAF. I would buy a genuine use MAF before buying any of those cheap ass MAF on eBay or Amazon.

Any skilled mechanics want to verify this?

I have a spare MAF located in Racine. Pulled from e39. DISA is shot the easiest part to remove for examination. The main intake boot is a strong candidate for vacuum leak also.

The phrase "throttle position implausible" literally means the input value from the throttle position sensor is not possible with a properly functioning throttle sensor. So maybe that is the fault. (Including wiring)

Yep this is a common failure. Do not drive the car until it is fixed! The 2 steel rear brake lines will corrode and leak due to moisture accumulation behind the left front wheel well. Both lines should be replaced and I'd recommend using a nickel-copper alloy replacement line so it will never corrode again.

Whoever you bring the X to, make sure they use a double bubble fitting for the brake line if they are going to splice in a new line. COMPRESSION fittings are illegal and not safe.
