Nav screen visibility

I think the screen in my X was replaced with one from an e38 or e39 because the brightness is fine, but the viewing angle is too high. If I look at it when sitting in the driver's seat it looks washed out but if I prop myself up and look at it the screen looks perfect. Is there a setting somewhere on it to adjust?

^Nope. The viewing angles are different. The screen was most likely replaced with one that has the viewing angles for an e39 5 series. It is almost impossible to get information when ordering a replacement screen that mentions viewing angles so people are almost always certain to get the e39 one as it is more common it seems. That's what happened in my case. Try as I might to order one for the x5... I was still sent one with e39 viewing angles... TWICE.

This & wanting an easy & inexpensive backup camera is exactly why I put an android headunit in my X. I am so much happier with other it over the stock navigation. Mad I didn’t do it sooner. I got the one in Crows big post.

I have a nav screen from my E53 (so it has the proper viewing angle) available if you are interested. It was removed before the vehicle went to the bone yard and was in working order when it was removed. Drop me a PM if interested.
