She changes her mind faster than wind direction in a tornado.

But wise man knows happy wife = quiet house

I just posted something similar on the E70 forum having made the jump to a 2012 35d. Interestingly, E70's don't have the same sport/std distinction that the E53 does. The sport package on the E70 is appearance only, same ride height & stiffness as std. There's a rarer M-sport package that does have uprated springs/bars.

Right now, we've got an '05 E53 sport with 4-corner air springs, an '01 non-sport, and a '12 E70 with sport package (20" wheels but std susp settings).

The '05 suspension definitely feels the stiffest, but the 18" wheels take a lot of the harshness out of it. It's a controlled, firm ride otherwise. The E70 feels a little softer, but it's riding on 20" wheels. It feels more stable and best on the highway but not as nimble as the '05 sport. The '01 was noticeably softer than both when I had 18" wheels on it. I just put 20's on, and now you feel the smaller bumps a little more, but overall it's still softer than the '05 sport with 18's.
