I don't think your car is wired for bi-xenon so yes you will need to program it for bi-xenon if you wire the shutters to the LCM. When you operate the high beams without programming, the shutters will not operate and only the halogen will light up. When you wire for bi-xenon and program as bi-xenon, the high beams will not operate the halogens, only the shutters when switched to high beam.

The LCM has to be set for halogen or bi-xenon. I don't know why, but I have the programming equipment and I remember seeing the LCM Settings where you have to change from halogen to bi-xenon.

You have to be committed to doing this project because the bi-xenon lights need the aiming mechanism that you don't have, and the facelift change will require lots of changed sheet metal.

Just for the record, my car has bi-xenon lights that operate as high bean WITH the inner halogen on at the same time (in high beam)... so it can be wired/programmed that way. Pulling the stalk does the flash-to-pass, pushing activates the shutters and turns on the halogens.

Add the fog lights to this and you can toast marshmallows... ! :-)

You will need to code the X so that the fog lights can come on when the high beams are also on. I had this done on my X. Super bright to get that ass hole on the oncoming lane to flip off his high beams.

It seems that in some markets, this is the factory set-up - in other markets, you have to code it yourself. I'm pretty sure my car came this way from the factory.
