Underride protection guard mounting parts help

Dear friends,

I have manegd to find a great shape Underride protection guard. As a quick search on the form informd me that the mounting parts ara not availible any more.

Does anyone have any information about the mounting parts? Is it even possible to get the mounting parts from BMW ? ( maybe changed part numbers ? )

And I realy like the look of the e53 with the underride bar but I know it's heavy and does it effect the mpg ? Ho has one and has driven the e53 before install and after ? Any information u have will make me happy!

Thank u all

I doubt you'll see a difference in mileage, it's less than the weight of an additional passenger, and mounted low in the chassis.
Do you notice a difference in fuel consumption when you have a passenger vs when you're alone? Didn't think so.
Maybe at 100+ mph it creates extra drag and makes a difference then, but who knows, and even then it would be a negligible difference.

In another thread a few days ago, someone asked about it and a member commented that even if you get the kit, the mounting kit for it is no longer available. So make sure if you do, it's the complete setup.

someone on Ebay a while back was asking some insane price for a bar without the mounting kit. I would not buy a bar for $100 without a kit as I do not have the time or inclination to fabricate one. Best to avoid unless you have the time.

The basic bar or the full cage? I've seen pic of the mounting hardware it appears to be nothing more than bolts and stand offs nothing that can't be bought for $10-20 at a decent hardware store
