Convert 4.8is N62B48 to N62B48 from E60 Doable?

Hi All

I'm on to a low mileage 2004 4.8is that has issues in the bottom end (spun bearing I think)....

Anyways... Talking to my indy and he is suggesting dropping a second hand motor would be simpler and cheaper than pulling it out and reconditioning it.

I have tracked down a 4.8 engine from a 2005 e60 550i that comes as a bare long (complete without hoses/wiring) with about the same mileage on it as the X5.

Financially it stacks up to do so, but am unsure about the differences between essentially the same engine in different applications.

Is there anyone here that knows the details or can point me to successful engine swaps?
