Which cd changer plays mp3 and which version is the best?

I've been searching for a suitable changer to replace my oem model that plays only cd music (wave file).

So far i've found one that plays mp3, model no. 6512 9131852-01.

Does anyone have other model number that also plays mp3 well?

What about this model: 65126977767-03? Does it also play mp3?

Can you guys post model numbers that you know for sure plays mp3 well?

Much obliged!

I've researched this a few times. the 6512 9131852-01 is definitely the one to get, but other's may work.

From another forum:
"CD Changers made from September 2005 on will play MP3s, but these changers do not have the coaxial digital audio connector which is needed for older DSP audio systems."

Also, this store sells new 6512 9131852-01. the price is crazy, but lots of good info on the page.

Hi Jeff, thank you for the tip and the link. The information is very helpful. I've read through it all and still isn't sure if I can install the newer changer without any modifications.

How do I know if my radio unit uses the spdif or not?

My car is built 07/10/2003. It has the cd changer and on board nav monitor. The cd text does not display so i assume i have the older nav computer.

How do I know if the 6512 9131852-01 will work on my car?
