AC Takes forever to blow cold.
If the pressures are normal the Venturi is most likely the culprit. If the low side pressure is low you have a leak. Low pressure will cause the evaporator to ice up and is most likely your problem if the output is cold then warms up until the next off cycle. If the low side is high and the high side is low that indicates a bad compressor. Tap a talk showed two identical posts 2 seconds apart. I edited the second and the forum must have automatically deleted the first.

? No post at all?
Saw it in the email notification. I'm so confused. ACs are rocket science to me. Ugh. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Is the AC compressor not engaging, but the AC switch and AC indicator light are on? Check the air gap between the clutch plate and the pulley of the AC compressor. Our daughter Honda Fit would blow ice cold air when you first turn it on, but after 15 - 20 minutes it would just blow warm air. I open the hood and looked at the compressor and saw that the clutch plate was not engaged with the pulley so I knew the compressor wasn't turning. Took a long pry bar and gave the clutch a quick tap and immediate the clutch plate got suck onto the pulley and AC was working again. This leads me to believe that the air gap for the clutch plate and pulley was too great so, the magnetic coil wasn't strong enough to pull the clutch plate onto the pulley. Used my cordless impact driver to remove the nut from the clutch plate along with the shim. The shim was really thin so I just decide to leave it off and reassemble the clutch plate onto the compressor. AC been working fine since this repair. If the clutch plate fails again I will just buy a new clutch plate and replace it. Because it is just a metal to metal contact between the clutch plate and pulley so I expect there to be wear on both metal pieces.

I will give it a closer look tomorrow. It looks pretty rusty and shit when I was looking at it. I will see about testing it or something. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

If the AC is cold every time initially it's not likely the clutch. You can. Watch that engage by requesting AC.
If it works well "when it wants" but cuts out randomly look for a bad low pressure switch or wiring. When i bought my X5, the switch was not plugged in all the way.

Where is this switch located? Is it the stuff on top of the AC that energizes the coil for the clutch? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I meant sensor when I said switch but it's located on the return line close to the compressor on the M54 engine. Straight down next to the secondary air pump. Unplug and measure ohms on the sensor it should be near zero.

Ok so today the aux fan decided to work intermittently. It doesn't come on at startup but it will come on after a while usually after I've driven for a bit and the AC is actually working (dont know if its working because of the AC or if the AC isn't working because of the fan) So how do I check that I have power to the fan connector. Can I just stick a volt meter in there and read it?

Fan has power whenever ignition is on. The ground is opened to disable fan.
Fan will come on if you unplug the right sensor. AC low pressure or something somebody will chime in which connector. Aux fan not meant to run always. I think even with AC on just at a cooler engine temp it kicks in.
