I made sure the cable was disconnected. There is a ball and a collar, Then I pulled the rod that connects to the lock button motor. AFter that I tilted the mechanism 90 degrees and jiggled it a bit. The problem is the cable sometimes catches on the lock motor. It's a bit tricky but will work. Saw the post about replacing rubber from old unit. I will try this as I too have much trouble making the rear one fit properly. The front one fit like a glove with no issues. Thanks
