Tail Light Problem - Need Wiring Help

OK, did search but could not find any related info. Driver's side tail light, bottom bulb will not light up. Tested bulb, tested socket - all works fine. Put a tester on the tail light assembly connections and it does not appear that I am getting power down to that connection.

My question is, does anyone know which wire supplies the power to this socket?? The previous owner spliced in trailer wiring on this side of the vehicle, so I am wondering if I have a loose connection because of the splices. If someone knows the answer to this, it would save me a lot of trouble having to test each connection.

Oh well, never mind - figured out it is a bad bulb socket. Due for service, so I guess I will have the dealer put one in.

glad you figured it out. it would be kind weird for the lcm to fail only on one socket circuit.

it might be cheaper to fix it yourself.. sounds like you know what you are doing!

My tail light failed too. The contact point on the tail light had burned through by an intermittent contact with the bulb holder. It had literally sparked a hole right through the contact plate! I fixed it by flow soldering a patch in the hole and it's working fine now.
