No thanks is necessary. Besides where else do you get to blow stuff up AND have people thank you for it, sometimes even the cops!!

Fact.
That's a long time out of the us man. Yeah, stationed in SA. Trying to get to Europe one of these days.

So far it's been great. Since I had he valve body rebuilt the wife has fallen in love with it again.
Gotta figure out my AC issue, and I'm pretty sure a U joint or two is shot.

That's why I'm wondering about miles, sometimes I wonder if I should keep it, or move on to something that can take more abuse without breaking the wallet.

Yeah I do. I am thinking I want to do some suspension work like you did also.
I also want to lower it some more, but if I don't keep it. Why do all that. I'm so torn.

That's the thing with BMW's... every 100,000 to 140,000 miles you are going to have to spend $2000-$3000 in parts to keep it "tip top." But the time in between those major services is just oh so good and why the wife and I can't drive anything else... and we've tried.

Exactly. I know nothing else will drive like it, but damn if they don't need more attention and money than the average car.
I do miss my diesel truck tho, the wife too.
I would love an E70 X5M, but they seem as high maintenance as the damn E60 M5. We really need an SUV of some type to haul that big ass dog and the kid. That or a large truck again.
I'm so torn.
Few things look better than a lower X5 iS, but I need to be able to tow my bike to the race track too. Not sure if I trust the X5 to do that regularly. Lol.

While the X5 was down due the valvebody she was driving the ole beater 330 zhp. She got back into the X5 and was telling me she forgot how much better it drivers. Better brakes, and overal generally better ride.
Even tho the zhp is on coilover and has the quickest steering of all 3 cars.
I think the zhp being an auto is why.
I fixed the X5 and left town the next day.
But lately I've been thinking I should keep it, lower it on coilovers and a cat back, or resonator delete.
I think I'm gonna see how it is over the summer while I'm deployed. If it doesn't act up while I'm gone I will keep it.
If it does. I may ditch it.

Right now, my spark plug tubes on the driver side bank are leaking.
The oil cooler gasket leaks when its cold out, and I wanna refresh the rear end suspension.
I may try to do the valve covers and tubes before I deploy. If I have time.

^My wife LOVES my 4.8is compared to her x35d. She loves the way it drives and accelerates compared to the FI diesel. If yours weren't black I'd say let me know when you were thinking of selling. We need a third vehicle, though I was looking at an e61 wagon or e39 wagon, but another 4.8is could be nice.

Lol. Yeah black cars suck. I said never again after I washed the X5 the 1st time and what do i do? I ended up with a black zhp.
I'm waiting on a local cat to build an E39 M5. I told him dibs already. If I get that, I'm selling the M3 and maybe the X5 if I can get a OEM hitch for the 5er.
Zhp is gonna go regardless.

I was checking out deleted and tuned X5 35d on YouTube the other day. That shit is tempting. At this point I think the decided factor on the X5 will be how well the transmission acts this summer.
